Tourist Trap Released!

Thrilled to announce that Tourist Trap, the game that I've been working on on/off for what feels like forever, is finally done (well, published. We'll see if I end up adding more to it). This initially started as a Game Jam attempt, and quickly spiraled out of the scope of the jam to become a proverbial albatross around my neck. I had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot making it, but I'm happy to be finished and free to move on to new projects.
Tourist Trap is, essentially, a horror-themed reverse escort mission. It's not really scary, but it uses horror as a tone. You follow a tour guide through a city that looks a lot like New Orleans, hearing stories about different spooky locations throughout the city. You can wander off from the tour and explore (and you'll have to, to get the best ending), but if you wander too far, the fog will begin to creep up on you, and eventually result in a game over with a spooky little scene. At the end of the tour, a surprise awaits.
This game has the most voice acting I've ever done. I ended up voicing four different characters, five if you count the scream of the player character, and my lovely wife (who also made the cover art for the game!) voiced another. Writing and recording dialogue for the tour was one of my favorite parts of this whole process. Whenever I was getting bogged down in the minutiae of gamedev, I would unwind by practicing my Yat accent.
I'm looking forward to bringing all my new knowledge into my next game, which will be a lot bigger than anything I've made before. Thanks for reading.
